Beauty in a bottle

An all too familiar question that I've gotten over the years from aspiring fitness models who feel they're either creeping up in age, or just want an extra edge over their competition. My thoughts on the subject?... What you consume will ultimately show up on the outside at some point (no matter who you are or what type of metabolism you have) so listen up!

Blemish-free skin, strong nails, and shiny hair are all signs of good internal health. That’s why nourishing from within, via the proper foods, adequate water consumption, and essential supplements, is the best way to care for your body. In fact, it’s imperative to feed your body what it needs because the base cell layer from which your skin, hair, and nails grow needs constant care. What you take in, therefore, reflects your external appearance and overall health. However, lately, there has been an overwhelming increase in supplement sales that cater to a woman’s need to have healthy and beautiful hair, skin, and nails. These “beauty supplements” include many of the same vitamins and minerals found in certain foods, and thus, consumers are turning to these new beauty formulas for that desirable external glow.

For the most part, the ingredients in beauty supplements tend to have especially large amounts of vitamins A, C and E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and copper. These vitamins are believed to help prevent oxidative damage to skin cells, while fatty acids are said to help support blood flow to the skin. These nutrients also help as they are incorporated into the cell structure and improve flexibility.

Do you have an beauty tricks? Send them to me because I'm always looking for great advice!
